The aye-aye is a primate found in Madagascar and is considered one of the ugliest creatures on earth. Unlike other primates, aye-ayes rely on echolocation for hunting. To find food, the aye-aye uses its long, slender middle finger to tap on trees in order to find insects and it uses this same finger to scoop them out.
Unfortunately, due to its ugly and demon-like appearance, the aye-aye is often killed at first glance by superstitious residents in the area. It is also threatened by loss of habitat.
